You did what you thought was right - or the closest thing to "right" of the choices you felt you had.

That was then and this is now.  

Enough of that...let's move on (by all means!) to (drum roll, please...) my Christmas gift to you!

It is my "Book of Positive Aspects" about you.

What is a "Book of Positive Aspects" you might ask?  It is simply this:

The process is one of Abraham's and is in fact called "The Book of Positive Aspects". Abraham suggests using it to raise our vibration and focus on those positive aspects of people and things we feel good about. I have in fact used it successfully to raise my vibration when someone is irking me or I don't feel too good about them. By focusing on only their positive aspects, what was irking me about them seemed to literally disappear and they began showing up in my reality in a mostly positive way.

1. Purchase a notebook and write on the cover My Book of Positive Aspects 
2. At the top of the first page write the name of the thing or person you want to focus on.
3. Next, ask yourself these questions - What do I like about you? *Why do I love you so much?* What are your positive aspects? - If writing about someone that is irking you right now, the 2nd question may be hard to answer immediately; however, as you begin to focus on the positive in the person your vibration will begin to change and you will reach a place of love.
4. Begin writing down the thoughts that come to you in response to the questions - do not force them. Write as long as the thoughts come easily and then read and enjoy your own words. 

By focusing on the positive we begin raising our vibration to one of appreciation which is a powerful vibration. The more positive aspects we search for, the more we will find and our relationships with these people will change for the better. The more consistently we practice this, the more dominant the vibration will become and our reality will reflect this.

There are many benefits to this process - you'll feel good doing it, your point of attraction will improve, your relationships will improve and more great things and people will begin showing up in your life.

When you are appreciating someone, and they are unable to uplift themselves to the level of your vibration, they vibrate right out of your experience. Most people you love will be uplifted by your appreciation to a new level of appreciation and connectedness for themselves.

OK, so here it is.  This is my ACTUAL book.  Not re-written or cleaned up at all.  That's why it's so messy and "dog eared"!  Of course, I had to cross out certain things that were just way too embarrassing and geeky and besides, I don't want you to get too big of a head!

I hope I don't regret this.  DO NOT get too full of yourself!!!

So once I got on a roll, there was SO much (added over quite some time - several months) that it has taken up two full pages so far.  And more things come to mind and the list gets longer every day.

You can do it!  That's what I just did...do you think this was easy???  Talk about "brave"...if I do say so myself.

"Look for the helpers..."

This is always a very busy and hectic time of year, but normally, a happy and joyous one, too.  This year, however, with the tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut one week ago today, it's been a confusing time of celebration mixed with unspeakable grief.

Let's commit to pay tribute to the 26 angels of Sandy Hook Elementary School by each of us doing something kind for someone else today.  Whether it's a small act or a large one, show someone a kindness you ordinarily would not stop and think to do and let that act be in honor of those we lost one week ago today.

I came across this quote from, of all people, Mr. Rogers, that I thought was beautiful and very true.


“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, 'Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.' To this day, especially in times of disaster, I remember my mother’s words and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers – so many caring people in this world.”

The news is always difficult to watch as it seems there is so much more bad than good being reported.  It's been bad before, it was so much worse than usual last week and there will continue to be upsetting reports bombarding us from what seems like every direction.  But let's try to keep those simple yet profound words of wisdom in mind and "look for the helpers" - the good people (or animals, in the case of the therapy "comfort dogs") that always step up and appear in these stories.  

                Let us focus not on the villains, but on the heroes.

Guest Author, Dani-Lyn Alexander

We are thrilled to welcome our first guest author today, Dani-Lyn Alexander!  

Dani-Lyn, tell us a little about yourself.

I live on eastern Long Island with my husband, three kids, ages twenty-one, thirteen and two (surprise!!) and three dogs. I have always loved working with children. I've worked as a dance teacher and choreographer, directed and choreographed several high school plays, and written a children’s chapter book that will be released soon. I've always loved to read, and have had a book in my hand since I was about three. When my youngest son was born and didn't sleep through the night, I figured I’d try my hand at writing. I loved it!

What genres do you write?

Paranormal and Contemporary Romance.

Tell us about your newest release and what inspired you to write it.

The Dollhouse is a short story, and was just released by Still Moments Publishing as part of the For the Love of Christmas Anthology. I was enjoying the fact that this year I didn't have a ‘hard to find’ gift that would send me running frantically all over Long Island on a futile search.

What other books have you written?

Trust and Betrayal is my first novel, and was released by Etopia Press in October. The sequel, Truth and Deceit, will be released in January. I also have short stories included in several anthologies; Dangerous Men, Dangerous Places, Haunted Shadows, and For the Love of Christmas.

Dani-Lyn, thank you very much for stopping by and for being our first guest author!  It is very inspirational to know that in such a relatively short time you have accomplished so much.  I assumed you'd been at this for years!  And as if that successful body of work in a span of less than two years were not incredible enough, you did it all while being a busy wife and mom with a new baby...amazing!
